Welcome to National Ocean Satellite Center

The National Ocean Satellite Center of the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency is the only state agency in the Republic of Korea that operates geostationary marine satellites and produces various marine observation products through the GEO-KOMPSAT-2B (GK-2B), which monitors the waters around the Korean Peninsula at all times.

The GK-2B is a successor to the world's first geostationary marine observation satellite operated from 2010 to 2021, and produces fast and accurate high-quality satellite data to monitor the surrounding waters of Korea, climate change, and respond to current issues.

The National Ocean Satellite Center will continue to operate the GK-2B stably and do its best to support the safety of the public and the development of the economy through accurate and rapid marine satellite information services.
